Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Prospect). They were the clear victor by an 18-5 margin over the Gilroy Mustangs on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jeremy Wang made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Prospect let Kevin-Joseph Rieden and Kyle Pollace run wild. Rieden went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Pollace went 3-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Prospect is undefeated when Pollace posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dale Gurtler, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prospect will take on Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gilroy, they will challenge Alisal at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Alisal's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Gilroy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
