Carson Holbert made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Maggie Walker: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lewis Dunn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
