There's no place like home for Fairfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Armijo Royals 9-2 on Thursday. Considering the Falcons have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Trustin Mitchell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Devin Knox, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Fairfield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Armijo, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-6-1.

Fairfield has already played their next contest, a 6-3 victory against Napa on the 28th. As for Armijo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-0 win against Johnson on the 1st.
