Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canfield). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lakeside Dragons a 19-0 shutout on Thursday. The Cardinals are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 13 straight.

Gabriel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. In other batting news, Canfield got a massive performance out of Logan Patellis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Patellis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was AJ Economous, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Canfield's record is now 20-7. As for Lakeside, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.
Looking ahead, Canfield will welcome South Range at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 3.6, the Raiders 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Lakeside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
