Make it nine blowout wins for the El Diamante Miners this season. They blew past Golden West 72-36 at home. The victory was just what El Diamante needed coming off of a 70-32 loss in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Rian Jones-Dillihunt, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Torres, who scored 11 points.
Golden West's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Danae Banuelos and Aniyah Venegas. Banuelos dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Venegas scored 12 points. Banuelos has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times she's played.
El Diamante pushed their record up to 12-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.67 points. As for Golden West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.
El Diamante will head out on the road to square off against Redwood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Golden West, they will be playing at home against Monache at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monache is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
