The Gunn Titans will challenge the Design Tech Dragons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Gunn came out on top against Monta Vista on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Titans took their contest against the Matadors 8-4.
Anders Lo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Lo was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bo Kimble and Sam Bogart did most of the damage at the plate: Kimble went 2-for-3 with one run and one double, while Bogart got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Seve Noh was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Design Tech). They never let KIPP San Jose Collegiate get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now won five in a row.
Like Gunn, Design Tech also got a great game from a two-way player: Logan Garrett. On the mound, Garrett pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Branden Hom struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Design Tech is 2-1 when Hom allows three or fewer hits, but 0-3-1 otherwise. At the plate, Garrett went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI, while Hom went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Aidan Tom was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Diego Carrasco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Design Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive games.
The win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-4-1. As for Gunn, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-6.
Gunn was able to grind out a solid win over Design Tech when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 5-0. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
