The Jefferson-Morgan Rockets lost against the Monessen Greyhounds on January 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Jefferson-Morgan took a serious blow against the Greyhounds, falling 57-15. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Jefferson-Morgan has scored all season.
Hailey Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Monessen, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games she's played. Sidney Campbell was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Jefferson-Morgan's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.1 points per game. As for Monessen, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Coincidentally, Jefferson-Morgan and the Greyhounds will both be playing the Pioneers the next time they take the court. Monessen will head out to face West Greene at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Jefferson-Morgan will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
