Basketball Recap: Darlington Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

It was a good run, but Darlington unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 51-43 to the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Diamond Hornets are ranked fourth).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lower Richland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jhnai Sumter, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The contest was Sumter's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Chi?Nya Isaac was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Darlington's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2. As for Lower Richland, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Darlington and Lakewood will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lower Richland will take on Crestwood in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Crestwood: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Lower Richland has snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
