While the Sterling Jets couldn't quite beat the Pawnee City Indians on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 54-point loss they were dealt last Tuesday. Sterling fell just short of the Indians by a score of 41-38. Sterling was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Pawnee City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emalyse Gottula out in front who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveah Blecha, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Pawnee City, their victory bumped their record up to 2-15.
Sterling will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons on Tuesday. Freeman is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Pawnee City, they will take on the Eagles on Tuesday.
