The Madera South Stallions lost to the Sunnyside Wildcats back in December of 2023, but the Madera South Stallions didn't allow the Sunnyside Wildcats the same satisfaction on Wednesday. Madera South had just enough and edged Sunnyside out 38-35.
BRIANNAH LORTA continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ruby Cartwright, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Cartwright hasn't dropped below two steals for 19 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Xiong, who scored nine points.
Madera South's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Sunnyside, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madera South will play host again and welcome Sanger West, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sunnyside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roosevelt at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
