La Jolla Country Day has gone a perfect 10-0 against Classical Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Torreys will host the Caimans at 5:00 p.m. La Jolla Country Day's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Classical Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
La Jolla Country Day was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Maranatha Christian on Friday. The Torreys put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-3 victory.
Jamie Onaitis was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because La Jolla Country Day is 6-3 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Onaitis was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mitch Circuit, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Rock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base.
La Jolla Country Day always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Classical Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Bishop's by a score of 8-6.
Trevor Hoff made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for La Jolla Country Day, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. La Jolla Country Day hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Classical Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
