The Bell Eagles will be playing at home against the Banning Pilots at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bell will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Friday, it was close, but Bell sidestepped Huntington Park for a 3-2 win. Given Bell's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Huntington Park is ranked 821st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bell was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Zuleyka Ortiz and
Nyssa Buenrostro, who scored all three of Bell's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 40 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Banning kept a clean sheet against Narbonne last Friday. They came out on top against the Gauchos by a score of 2-0. Two seems to be a good number for Banning as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.
Bell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6-1 record this season. As for Banning, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11-1.
Everything went Bell's way against Banning in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 as Bell made off with a 7-1 win. In that contest, Bell amassed a halftime lead of half, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
