Pittsburg won the last time they faced Mt. Eden and things went their way on Monday too. The Pirates came out on top against the Monarchs by a score of 6-1.

Santino Valle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, JJ Robinson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ty Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Pittsburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February.

Pittsburg's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Mt. Eden, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pittsburg will welcome Tesoro at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Eden, they will host Tennyson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Monarchs are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
