St. Mary's extended the longest winning streak in Southern Minnesota this week by beating Cedar Mountain/Comfrey, 62-18. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Red Rock Central made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,874 from 8,895. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 56-26 victory over Sleepy Eye last week.
Springfield's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jacob Menage threw for 91 and one touchdown and Cooper Scheffler had 29 yards receiving. On the ground Zach Mickelson chipped in 74 yards. Karson Herfurth helped Springfield's passing attack out by catching one ball for 27 yards.
Springfield's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Menage has thrown for 553 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Christopher Kretsch has 13 catches for 221 yards. Menage also leads the league in rushing with 340 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Wabasso takes on St. Mary's. As it stands, the Rabbits are in sixth, while Rod Berdan's team is in first.
