Jay and Northview are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2023, but likely not for long. The Royals will take on the Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Jay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Paxton a 14-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Royals.
Ella Samford tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jay got a massive performance out of Mylee Frazier, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Emery Vaughn was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Jay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Northview got the win against Baker on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-1. The Chiefs have beaten the Gators the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Gators has come to flipping the script.
Peyton Womack made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Womack was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylee Langham, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Daviona Randolph, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Northview's record now sits at 17-5. As for Jay, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Jay came up short against Northview when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 7-2. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
