The Jefferson-Morgan Rockets waltzed into Monday's contest with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Charleroi and snuck past 46-43. That's another feather in the cap for Jefferson-Morgan, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jefferson-Morgan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Huston Guesman, who scored 14 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Guesman has scored at least 25% of Jefferson-Morgan's points. Another player making a difference was John Woodward, who scored 16 points.
Jefferson-Morgan pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Charleroi, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Jefferson-Morgan won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bethlehem Center at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Bethlehem Center focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 last Tuesday. As for Charleroi, they will be playing in front of their home fans against California at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. California comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
