The Kennett Blue Demons had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-32 victory over Bayard Rustin. For Kennett, this counts as revenge for the 46-39 defeat the Golden Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Despite the loss, Bayard Rustin had strong showings from Jenna Kraft, who scored eight points, and Sara Betchyk, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. Betchyk hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games.
Kennett is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Bayard Rustin, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.
Kennett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bayard Rustin also has no future games currently scheduled.
