The Truckee Wolverines will head out on the road to challenge the North Valleys Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Truckee can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They strolled past Sparks with points to spare, taking the game 37-20. The win was just what Truckee needed coming off of a 53-20 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, North Valleys came tearing into Wednesday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 59-46 victory over South Tahoe.
It was another big night for Ivy Williams, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. Williams is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Annika Hester, who scored 12 points.
Truckee's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for North Valleys, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Truckee took a serious blow against the Panthers when the teams last played back in January, falling 65-29. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Williams, who scored 19 points along with eight steals and six rebounds.
