Malvern Prep has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge Shipley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shipley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Malvern Prep, who comes in off a win.
Malvern Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Abington Friends 73-41 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Malvern Prep has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Shipley pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 69-55 to Episcopal Academy. Shipley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Shipley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Henry Rassmussen, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Littles, Jr, who scored 11 points.
Malvern Prep's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Shipley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Malvern Prep against Shipley when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 88-31 victory. With Malvern Prep ahead 44-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
