The Jefferson-Morgan Rockets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Geibel Catholic. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jefferson-Morgan in their matchups with Geibel Catholic: they've now lost three in a row.
Emma Larkin was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with nine rebounds and five assists for Geibel Catholic. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Larkin has scored at least a third of Geibel Catholic's points. Another player making a difference was Ava Henderson, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Jefferson-Morgan's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-10. As for Geibel Catholic, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Jefferson-Morgan will head out on the road to face off against McGuffey at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. McGuffey presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jefferson-Morgan in Pennsylvania (McGuffey is ranked 182nd, while Jefferson-Morgan is ranked 650th). As for Geibel Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against South Allegheny at 7:00 p.m. South Allegheny is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
