The Union Mine Diamondbacks are taking a road trip to square off against the El Dorado Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Mine is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
While Union Mine's victory against Galt wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Diamondbacks had just enough and edged out the Warriors 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Diamondbacks have posted since April 4th.

Nate Gregson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Gregson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Union Mine is undefeated when Gregson posts two or more runs, but 7-11 otherwise.
Gregson wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Matt Manfredi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, El Dorado narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Amador 5-3.
Gavin Ashton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on JJ Allen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Ozenne, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Union Mine pushed their record up to 12-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for El Dorado, they now also have a winning record of 12-11.
Union Mine might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from El Dorado in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Diamondbacks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
