Rubidoux hasn't had much luck against Ramona recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Rams at 3:15 p.m.
On Friday, Rubidoux wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Rubidoux saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yadiel Cepeda, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Ramona entered their tilt with Jurupa Valley on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 8-1 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.
Richard Laskey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Adam Hurtado was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Avina, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Rubidoux now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Ramona, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rubidoux has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ramona struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
