The Mountain Empire Redhawks lost against the High Tech NC Raptor on January 9th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The match between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Mountain Empire falling 39-21. They have not had much luck with High Tech NC recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Carli McGhee and Bibi Caceres certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. McGhee scored eight points, while Caceres scored seven points. That was a full 38.1% of Mountain Empire's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mountain Empire has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for High Tech NC, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Empire will face off against Gompers Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for High Tech NC, they will head out on the road to square off against Foothills Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Foothills Christian: 29.2, High Tech NC: 21.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
