Baseball Recap: Soquel Extends Winning Streak to Three

Soquel had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Harbor on Friday. The Knights put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 9-2 victory. The win was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

Dylan Hull tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hudson Summerrill and Cash Moran did most of the damage at the plate: Summerrill went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Moran scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Moran has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gabe Virgallito, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Soquel's record now sits at 13-1. As for Harbor, they moved to 11-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Soquel will square off against Leigh at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Longhorns will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Harbor, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Cruz at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th.
