Douglas dropped down to 9-3 on Monday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins. They were beaten by the Marcos de Niza Padres 66-35. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Loss or not, Douglas got some senior leadership from Diego Lopez and Luis Urias. Lopez went 5-for-12 en route to 13 points and six boards, while Urias posted seven points and three steals. Urias continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Marcos de Niza, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. That 31 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Marcos de Niza's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mj Shipp led the charge by shooting 45% from the field on his way to 23 points. Shipp has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Jd Dubose was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Douglas has already played their next matchup, a 53-50 victory against NFL Yet Academy on the 22nd. As for Marcos de Niza, they and Maricopa will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
