The Paramus Catholic Paladins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Northern Highlands by a score of 61-58. While losing is never fun, Paramus Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Northern Highlands is ranked 62nd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northern Highlands to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucas Dipasupil, who scored 19 points. Dipasupil hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Sawyer Chapler was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Paramus Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Northern Highlands, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paramus Catholic will challenge Mt. St. Michael Academy at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday. Northern Highlands on the road again on Saturday and play against Ramsey at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Ramsey will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
