Oak Hill Academy took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Calhoun Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars on Monday, sneaking past 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won four matchups in a row.
Kaelyn Pennington made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season.
In other batting news, Mollie Caroline Brand was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
