Presentation is 0-8-2 against Saint Francis since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Presentation Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Saint Francis Lancers at 6:00 p.m. Presentation's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Presentation has not won a game since January 17th, a trend which continued on Saturday. They and Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Presentation's first draw of the season.
Their goal came courtesy of
Meredith Matsumoto, who's now up to two this season.
Meanwhile, Saint Francis had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.6 goals), and they went ahead and made it six last Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Archbishop Mitty 1-0. Saint Francis' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five contests.
Presentation's draw makes their record 11-7-1 this season. As for Saint Francis, they pushed their record up to 14-1-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Presentation suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Saint Francis in their previous meeting back in January. Can Presentation avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
