Softball Recap: Westminster Wins Going Away Against Boulder

After only one run in their last game, Westminster made sure to put some runs up on the board against Boulder on Thursday. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Panthers. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Magaly Santacruz Vasquez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayana Gomez, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Westminster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Westminster's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Boulder, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westminster will host Brighton at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Boulder, they will square off against Fort Lupton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
