Basketball Recap: Shadow Ridge Piles Up the Points Against San Luis

Shadow Ridge had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 50-15 victory over the San Luis Sidewinders. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Sidewinders are ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shadow Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Danica Lindemann led the charge by going 5 of 12 en route to 13 points along with five boards and five steals. That's the most points Lindemann has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Hammer, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points and five steals.

Shadow Ridge was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Luis only posted two assists.

San Luis lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Vanessa Ambriz, who posted seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmin Estrada, who had two points and three steals.

Shadow Ridge's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for San Luis, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Shadow Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 45-30 victory against Westwood on the 16th. As for San Luis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-17 loss against Chandler on the 16th.
