The John Paul II Centurions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 63-26 loss at the hands of The Guardians. The Centurions lost against the Guardians in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 33-17 score last time.

Perhaps the best among them was Eliseo Garcia, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Zach Martinez, who rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead the Guardians to victory, but perhaps none more so than Levi Golla, who threw for 303 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Carrosquilla, who rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries.
The Centurions' defeat was their fifth straight at home , which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for the Guardians, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.
The Centurions does not have any more games scheduled as of now. John Paul II will head out on the road to face off against Bay Area Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
