The Hilltop Cadets will take on Fort Wayne Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hilltop is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Hilltop took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Camden-Frontier by a score of 6-2.
Brady Wagner was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Wagner was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Toby Hartman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Crusaders lost 8-2 to Fort Wayne Canterbury on Saturday. The matchup marked Fort Wayne Crusaders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Fort Wayne Crusaders saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Bontrager, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Hilltop pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Wayne Crusaders, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hilltop has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Crusaders struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hilltop skirted past Fort Wayne Crusaders 10-9 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Do the Cadets have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fort Wayne Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
