Brandywine Heights Area is 1-9 against the Spartans since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Brandywine Heights Area Bullets will head out on the road to challenge the Wyomissing Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Brandywine Heights Area is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
Brandywine Heights Area scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They really took it to Fleetwood for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-25 win on the road. Brandywine Heights Area has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Addison Benner, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Avery Potteiger was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Wyomissing waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Hamburg 52-17 on the road. Given Wyomissing's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Hawks are ranked 550th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brandywine Heights Area has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Wyomissing, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Things could have been worse for Brandywine Heights Area, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-34 loss to the Spartans in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Brandywine Heights Area avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
