The Sterling Raiders stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 69-45 margin over Austin. The victory was familiar territory for Sterling who now have three in a row.
Sterling's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Rogers, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Rogers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darnell Williams, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Sterling has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Austin, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-14.
Sterling will head out on the road to face off against Milby at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Milby will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1203rd, while Sterling is ranked 506th). As for Austin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Galena Park at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
