Basketball Recap: Clairton Makes It Three in a Row at Home

If West Greene wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Clairton, they should've done a better job of containing Iyanna Wade. The Clairton Bears walked away with a 63-52 win over the West Greene Pioneers on Thursday thanks in part to Wade, who posted 32 points. Her evening made it 41 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Despite the loss, West Greene still got an impressive performance from Kendra Tharp, who earned 15 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Tharp is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Madelyn Roberts was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Clairton pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points per game. As for West Greene, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

Clairton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-46 loss against Serra Catholic on the 25th. West Greene has also already played their next contest, a 36-28 defeat against Cameron on the 24th.
