Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Fairfield's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

After only two runs in their last matchup, Fairfield made sure to put some runs up on the board against Foothill on Tuesday. The Fairfield Falcons' pitchers stepped up to hand the Foothill Mustangs an 18-0 shutout. Considering the Falcons have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Christian Rambeau made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Fairfield got a massive performance out of Donavan Luu, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Luu has posted since back in March of 2024. Tristen Smith was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Fairfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill only managed one hit.

Fairfield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.6 runs. Foothill dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fairfield beat Foothill by a score of 16-4 on Thursday.
