Baseball Recap: St. Bernard's Comes Up Short

St. Bernard's tournament run continued when they took on Etna on Friday. St. Bernard's fell just short of Etna by a score of 6-5.

Tyler Maples and Tyler Hinrichs did some serious damage despite the final result: Maples scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Hinrichs scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most hits Maples has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Shanahan, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Even though they lost, St. Bernard's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

St. Bernard's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Etna, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

St. Bernard's wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-2 defeat against Del Norte on the 22nd. As for Etna, they have also already played their next game, a 7-3 loss against McKinleyville on the 22nd.
