The West Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the North Stars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, West didn't have too much trouble with East Bakersfield at home as they won 52-38. West pushed the score to 40-17 by the end of the third, a deficit East Bakersfield cut but never quite recovered from.
Caleigh Adams was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of West's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Villalobos, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, North put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 57-29 victory over South at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win North has posted yet this season.
West pushed their record up to 12-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. North's record now sits at 12-6.
Everything came up roses for West against North in their previous meeting on January 9th as the squad secured a 63-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
