It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Northeastern Bobcats ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Middletown out 52-49. The victory was just business as usual for Northeastern, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Northeastern was led to victory by Emma Bush and Mikayla Coleman. Bush scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Coleman scored 16 points along with 8 assists. The game was Coleman's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nylah Davis, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Northeastern's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeastern will take on Red Land at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Middletown will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Camp Hill at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th.
