The Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 43-35 victory over Georgetown. This was payback for Miami Valley Christian Academy, who suffered a 45-22 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Georgetown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Bertram, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Preston, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Georgetown were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Miami Valley Christian Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Georgetown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Miami Valley Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Lockland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Georgetown will finish 2023 at home by hosting Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th.
