Leilani Wright continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Kayla Dhumad was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds.
El Primero lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Yesenia Villanueva, who scored eight points. That was a full 38.1% of El Primero's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mountain View Academy's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for El Primero, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View Academy will take on East Palo Alto Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Palo Alto Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1377th, while Mountain View Academy is ranked 682nd). As for El Primero, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against KIPP San Jose Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. KIPP San Jose Collegiate has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
