The South East Jaguars proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 34) but on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Huntington Park 47-44. The win was familiar territory for South East who now have three in a row.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kandie Chavez, who scored 16 points. Ingryd Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
South East pushed their record up to 6-9 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Huntington Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.
South East will be playing in front of their home fans against Roosevelt at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Roosevelt has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Huntington Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Legacy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
