On Wednesday, Downey didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Capistrano Valley Christian, but they still walked away with a 53-47 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Downey to victory, but perhaps none more so than Symantha Barnett, who almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Vaughn, who scored 20 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Downey now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Downey is on the road again on Friday and play against Cypress at 4:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, they will square off against Woodbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
