Urban Meyer's recruiting momentum carried over into the class of 2013 when
Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, Ohio) defensive back
Cam Burrows committed to the Buckeyes yesterday.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Burrows, a member of the
2013 Top 100 watch list, selected Ohio State over offers from Wisconsin, Alabama, LSU, Stanford and Tennessee.
Burrows told MaxPreps during the season that he visited Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan State.
On the high school field, he helped lead Trotwood-Madison to a 15-0 season and a Division II title. He played in the secondary alongside 2012 recruit
Bam Bradley, who is also considering Ohio State but has yet to make a decision.
Burrows projects to be one of the top defensive backs in next year's recruiting cycle.
"I call him
Patrick Peterson," head coach Maurice Douglass told MaxPreps in the fall. "He's one of those kids that is a sponge. Whatever you tell him to do, he'll do. He's going to be the guy outside running when everyone else goes inside."
Burrows is the first 2013 recruit to commit to Ohio State.
