Charlie Woods of
Benjamin (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) announced via Instagram on Tuesday that he will continue his golf career at Florida State.
The son of golf legend Tiger Woods is a junior at Benjamin and will try to help the Buccaneers grab a third Class 1A title in his four years at the Palm Beach County school next season.
Charlie Woods helped Benjamin to a state title as a freshman and last fall as a junior. He shot a 74-68 in the two-day final, tied for fourth individually, as the Buccaneers shot a team 572 to grab the trophy. His 68 on Saturday tied him for the low round.

The younger Woods joined Miles Russell, the No. 1 player in the American Junior Golf Association's Rolex Rankings, as Seminole commits from the Class of 2027. Florida State finished as the national runner-up in 2024, its best finish.
Woods is ranked No. 21 in the latest Rolex AJGA rankings. He burst on the scene at the 2020 PNC Championship playing with his father in the family team event. He has won the Team TaylorMade Invitational, a junior golf event, and has a top-10 finish at last summer's Junior PGA Championship while also qualifying for the past two U.S. Junior Amatuers.
Many thought the younger Woods would follow in Tiger's footsteps and go to Stanford, where his sister Sam is a freshman.
Tiger Woods played high school golf at
Western (Anaheim, Calif.) and though the CIF didn't have a state tournament at the time, he won the Southern Section individual title three times in 1991, 1993 and 1994. As high school sophomore, he made his first PGA appearance playing in the 1992 Los Angeles Open at Riviera.
