Charlie Woods and
Benjamin (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) won their second Florida 1A golf title in three seasons on Saturday at Mission Inn Resort at Howey-in-the-Hills.
The Buccaneers shot a 572 (288-284) to grab the overall title while Woods, the son of Tiger Woods, carded a 68 on Saturday tied for fourth individually at 142. He shot a 74 in Friday's opening round.
Tiger Woods and Charlie's mother Elin Nordegren both were on hand for the championship event. Charlie Woods' 68 on Saturday tied him with Jiang for the day's low round.
Mingbo Jiang of The First Academy won individual medalist honors after firing a pair of 68s for an 8-under 136. Benjamin's Andrew Tsar was second at 139 (68-71).
Benjamin won the 1A title in 2023, the school's fourth, when Woods was a freshman. The Bucs finished runner-up to
Oxbridge Academy (West Palm Beach, Fla.) in 2024.
The Buccaneers came in as the top seed after posting a 284 team score in the 1A Region 4 qualifier. Oxbridge's Ajax Lanasa fired a 6-under 66 and finished as qualifying medalist. Woods was tied for fourth with a 72.
Woods is a junior and ranked No. 27 in the state.
