Indiana boys soccer compares favorably to some of the best teams in the nation, according to MaxPreps' computer rankings.
Harrison (West Lafayette) has won its first eight games and is ranked No. 3 in the nation. Evansville Memorial (Evansville) also is unbeaten at 7-0-1 and is ranked No. 7. Indiana's top 10 teams hold positions among the nation's top 45.
The Midwest actually is dominating the national rankings at this point with Ohio holding down the No. 1 and 8 spots, with Illinois teams at No. 2 and 6.
Harrison is on a mission after placing second in the Class 2A state tournament last year following a 4-0 loss to Center Grove (Greenwood). Though returning just five seniors, the Raiders are Indiana's No. 1 Class 2A team and just this week handed No. 20 McCutcheon (Lafayette) its first loss 2-1 in a game suspended earlier in the season due to lightning.
