The high school football season in Utah came to a close over the weekend.
Skyridge (Lehi) was among the winners, knocking off
Corner Canyon (Draper) 17-7 in the Class 6A state championship game. That victory helped propel the Falcons to the No. 1 ranking in the final state MaxPreps Top 25.
Skyridge avenged a regular season loss to Corner Canyon in the title contest to capture its first state title in school history.
The Falcons were led offensively by wide receiver
La’akea Kalama, who hauled in 81 receptions for 901 yards and nine touchdowns. Utah MaxPreps Player of the Year
Smith Snowden paced the defense with six interceptions and had a huge fourth down tackle that occurred late in the state championship game.

Lehi also deserves mention after
Jackson Brousseau hit
Kolton Tanner for a 25-yard touchdown in a 29-23 triple-overtime win over
Timpview (Provo) in the title game. The Pioneers capped an unbeaten (14-0) season for their second consecutive state crown and third since 2017.
