College football fan's guide to high school football this weekend: Sept. 11-13

Two of Southern California's top teams will do battle this week.

With all states underway, there are more big high school football games this weekend that will be intriguing for college football fans.

Here's the breakdown of notable televised (and live-streamed) high school football games that college football fans should pay attention to.

Friday

Bishop Moore (Orlando, Fla.) vs. The First Academy (Orlando, Fla.)
When: 7 p.m. ET
Where: First Academy
Where to watch: NFHS Network
Top committed recruits: Parker Boudreaux (Notre Dame), Zander Zimmer (Wake Forest)
Top uncommitted recruits: Tre Johnson

Boudreaux is one of three offensive linemen committed to Notre Dame who rank in the Top 200 of the 247Sports Class of 2016 rankings. He's a mauler who announced his commitment by dragging a tractor trailer. On First Academy's offensive line, 6-foot-7 Tre Johnson is a valiant opponent.

McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.) vs. Peachtree Ridge (Suwanee, Ga.)

Put simply, this is mandatory viewing for Georgia fans, with Hockman, Rochester, Clay and other potential future Bulldogs.

Carmel (Mundelein, Ill.) vs. Joliet Catholic (Joliet, Ill.)
When: 8:30 p.m. ET
Where: Joliet Catholic

Top committed recruits: Sean Foster (Minnesota), Noah Turner (North Carolina)

Joliet Catholic is one of the state's most storied programs. However, this year Carmel is the one with top recruits.

Loyola (Los Angeles) vs. St. Augustine (San Diego)
When: 10 p.m. ET
Where: San Diego Mesa College
Where to watch: Time Warner Cable Sports Channel
Top committed recruits: David Long (Stanford)
Top uncommitted recruits: Michael Alves

This Los Angeles versus San Diego showdown features a pair of 2-0 teams. Long is a Top 10 recruit in California, and a player Stanford may need to work to hold onto if it struggles this season. Alves' 247Sports Crystal Ball favors Oregon.

Centennial (Corona, Calif.) vs. Orange Lutheran (Calif.)

Orange Lutheran is off to a hot start, but it faces a formidable challenge. Centennial is the nation's No. 3-ranked team for a reason. Its offense is a joy to watch, led by receiver Javon McKinley, who many expect to end up at Notre Dame.

St. John Bosco is coming off two blowout wins while Central Catholic fell to rival Jesuit. Central Catholic will enjoy home-field advantage, but St. John Bosco could overwhelm the Oregon defending state champion. Both teams have several future Pac-12 players.

Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) vs. St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City, N.J.)

Guarantano has the potential for an All-American caliber season; he looked outstanding last week. The young talent in this game, led by McKenzie and Ademilola, is particularly intriguing.
