Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) could become the first nationally-ranked program to win a state championship in 2025-26. No. 19 in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school girls basketball rankings, the Gaels have a Class 5A semifinal matchup Wednesday with a chance to punch their ticket to Friday's final.
The top two from each pool advance to single-elimination play starting Saturday.
Another ranked showdown is on the horizon in New Jersey as No. 9
St. John-Vianney (Holmdel) and No. 12
Red Bank Catholic (Red Bank) could meet in the Shore Conference tournament final Friday. The teams have split their two meetings this season and the third stanza cold be a preview of the Non-Public A final later this month.
